Palestra convidada do nosso simpósio: professor da Université Paris-Sud falará sobre HiPIMS.

Uma das mais modernas e promissoras técnicas de PVD para deposição de filmes finos é conhecida como HiPIMS. Durante o Simpósio N "Surface Engineering - functional coatings and modified surfaces", o doutor em Física de Plasma Tiberiu Minea, professor da Universidade Paris-Sud, fará uma abrangente apresentação sobre essa técnica.

O simpósio, coorganizado por nosso Instituto Nacional de Engenharia de Superfícies, ocorrerá dentro do XIII Encontro da SBPMat (João Pessoa, 28 de setembro a 2 de outubro).

HiPIMS: technology, physics and thin film applications

HiPIMS (high power impulse magnetron sputtering) is the topic of one of our invited speaks, which will be addressed by Professor Tiberiu Minea from the Université Paris-Sud, Laboratoire de Physique des Gaz et des Plasmas (France). Minea holds a PhD in Plasma Physics from that French university. He is the president of the French Federation of Scientific Societies, which groups the Physical, Optical, Electronics and Electro-technics, and Vacuum societies. He is also the president of the Scientific and Technical Committee at the French Vacuum Society. He authored/co-authored 67 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, 2 book chapters and 2 international patents; advised 11 doctoral theses and presented 16 invited speaks in conferences.The magnetron technology is worldwide used for thin film deposition since the late 1960s and it becomes over the years the standard for Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). During the last decade, the development of HiPIMS has emerged as a promising alternative to improve the quality of the deposited films. HiPIMS takes advantage from the significant ionization of the sputtered material being one of the ionized PVD technologies.In our symposium "Surface Engineering - functional coatings and modified surfaces", Professor Minea is going to talk about the technology, physics and thin film applications on HiPIMS.
